For five consecutive years Numismatic Auctions L.L.C. has graciously been voted into Coin World's Top 100 individually and/or as a corporation. This honor has been over four decades in the making!

Steve Davis of Numismatic Auctions L.L.C. began collecting coins at the age of 8 during the United States Bicentennial in 1976. Starting with an interest in his father's cigar box stash of coins and currency that his dad put aside as a paperboy in the 1940's, Steve was forever hooked. During the silver boom in the 1980's Steve began buying and selling coins, along with working at a local coin shop as an alternative to mowing lawns and painting houses. He later sold his coin collection as a senior in high school to fund the purchase of the first of what would be several investment properties, this propelled his numismatic interests even further.

In 1981 Steve worked his first numismatic auction event, recording prices realized for a Michigan State Convention Joseph Lepczyk Rare Coin Sale. He later went on to catalog many years for the firm and assist in management during later incarnations led by Ken Downie of Australia and Craig A. Whitford. After nearly a quarter century at the company, Steve manned the helm as the new owner following the retirement of Craig Whitford and has been conducting sales on his own ever since 2008.

Steve and his wife, Lisa, work together in the company and bring a a vastly diverse group of material to the market every sale. They list and sell pieces from Ancient to Modern, United States & World, esoteric Mint History items, Paper Money, Exonumia and much, much more. Starting with Sale #67, they transitioned to a digital, fully online auction platform featuring ultra-high definition, zoomable coin imagery and online bidding. With a nearly 100% sell through rate they continue setting record prices often not attained by other much larger firms, the transition has been a huge success.

Steve and Lisa look forward to many more years of helping both collectors and dealers alike buy and sell numismatic items while they build new friendships along the way.
